Tours

Every year Gr 5 - 6 and Gr 7 - 9 go on an educational tour in the second term.

The Gr 5 - 6's are accompanied by Gr 5- 6 teachers as well as a tour guide and facilitators from the campsite, who facilitate the learning experience.

Their tour is usually a 2 night, 3 day experience which involves visiting various places of educational value. Venues include Die Oog, Camp David, Loskop Dam, working farms, museums, ostrich farms and crocodile farms, etc.

The Gr 7 - 9 tour is usually a 4 night, 5 day experience. This revolves around survival, leadership, nature study and abseiling. These tours all take place at the tour venue where facilitators run the programme. Tour venues include Camp Nelu and Bosele in the Pilanesberg.

The accommodation for the tours is usually in dormitories or chalets and includes 3 wholesome meals a day.

The aim of the tours is to give learners an opportunity to broaden their knowledge in an informal situation, and to learn to socialize with others in a less formal environment.
