Agape Sports

Agape's sports division is headed by qualified and experienced sports coaches. They are actively involved in teaching the learners the importance of sportsmanship. The program also involves physical education on a weekly basis in which all learners must participate, as it forms part of the Life Orientation curriculum.

A number of sports activities, are offered which consist of the following:

Soccer
We offer junior and senior soccer coaching. Learners take part in games and tournaments throughout the second term. Soccer is one of the favourites for our learners.

Swimming
With a team of selected swimmers, learners participate in Inter House, Inter School, and the Gauteng North Swimming League galas. We are very competitive, even against schools that are much larger in numbers.

Cricket
Learners take part in games and tournaments throughout the first and last terms. Bating and bowling techniques are developed in the nets where bowling machines are used.

Netball
We offer the opportunity to learners to develop their netball skills. Grade 1 to 2 learn ball skills and are introduced to the basic rules of the game. U/9 learners play mini netball. U/10 to Open teams participate in the Christian league and against other GDE schools.

Athletics
Agape athletics program consists of long distance, relays, shot putt and long jump. Our season culminates with a large event at Ruimsig Sports Stadium which Agape hosts at the end of the 3rd term every year. Agape has taken home the trophy for winning the event for the past 15 years. We have also won the spirit cup at most of the events.

Private Coaching
Where children show a natural talent for any of the sports offered, the coaching staff would recommend that they attend professional coaching privately.
